Ecocel has been in operation for 7 years since January 2010 Sustainable manufacturing plays a big role in what we do. Ecocel is involved in many innovative partnerships including one with Cóillte creating a Timber Frame Passive Wall achieving U-value 0.13 and model will be on display at the Architects Show.
This is an Irish made and certified simple passive wall which allows the building to breath therefore creating a healthy indoor air quality in our damp Irish climate.
This wall has a very low Embodied Energy as raw materials locally sourced.
At the SEAI Retrofit conference earlier this year both the English and German head of there Green Building Councils streesed the importance of Low Embodied Energy when choosing building materials i.e. not enough to build Passive with High Embodied Energy Insulations, we need to be looking at Natural Low Embodied Energy insulations like Cellulose.
Ecocel is the only Irish made cellulose Irish made product. Ecocel is also used in acoustic partitions where party walls and sound has an impact. It can be used in rock bars, lecture halls and homes.
