Better Building Conference 2012
Wednesday 25 April 2012 | 9am – 7pm | €125/€99 for early bird/€80 Éasca and IGBC members | Registration Form | Royal Hospital Kilmainham (getting there)
Better Building in association with Ecocem is an International Conference for a Sustainable Built Environment that investigates the opportunities and challenges for companies working in the green sector. The event features a range of seminars and debates packed into one day featuring leading Irish and international experts, designers, academics, innovators and investors in sustainability for the built environment. The diverse topics discussed aim to converge on the common theme of ‘making the business case for sustainability’, quantifying the economic value of energy and resource efficiency and resilient systems.
The conference debates the critical issues facing property, design and construction professionals and showcases studies on exemplar projects and where sustainable design and decision-making has resulted in a win-win solution for all stakeholders. Expert-led technical workshops will ‘look under the hood’ of sustainability tools to investigate tricks of the trade.
An evening social event and facilitated networking session ensures interaction for developing business opportunities, meeting others and exchanging ideas.
This event is organised by Éasca, Irish Green Building Council, Cultivate, Sustainable Building Show, The Chartered Institute of Building and the Passive House Association of Ireland
7th December 2011 | Extraordinary General Meeting
4.30pm please note change of time | The Greenhouse | 17 St Andrew St | Dublin 2
Undoubtedly in times of recession, it is all the more important that we promote business TOGETHER with a unified voice and a clear vision as to where we wish our Companies, our Country and our Industry to be in 5 or 10 years time.
In speaking to members from around the country it is clear that those who are thriving are those who are nimble enough to have altered their modus operandi and ways of thinking. Building to passive House Standards may for all of us be such a change in our way of thinking.
The agenda for the meeting is as follows:
- Review of the past year’s activities and the challenges for the year ahead
- Review of the corporate structure and invitation for nominations toward the directorate and regional groups
- Technical Presentation of houses which opened for the Passive House Open day of last weekend
- Open discussion of events for 2012
- AOB
Only paid up members will be qualified to attend however should you wish to join the association as a new member for 2012, you may do so before the meeting. An annual general meeting will be held in late January, 2012.
Please contact Martin Murray at mmurray@mmarch.ie with any queries or any suggested items for inclusion in the agenda within the next two weeks.
