Congratulations to Winkens Architecture & Integrated Energy – winners of the recent Isover Energy Efficiency Awards held in WoodQuay Venue Dublin on March 1st.
The winning project, Francis Clauson’s Ultra Low Energy House, Kiltilly, Co. Wexford, is the first certified passive house in Ireland to achieve an A1 rating.
Achieving a space heat demand of just 13.4 kWh/m2.a & airtightness result of 0.58 m3/h.m2, this project demonstrated that a low energy house could be built in the traditional style within tight planning restraints on form and height of residential constructions, and achieve passive house certification.
Runners Up were Green Extension Architects for home-owner Liam Desmond’s A2 rated renovation in Stillorgan Co Dublin, and Glenashling Nursing Home, in Celbridge – the first Passive Certified nursing home in Ireland, realised for owners Gary and Norma Gavigan, by Integrated Energy and The Clarke Partnership.
ISOVER Ireland have been awarded the honour of hosting the next grand final in Dublin in 2014, to which all of our Irish winners will be showcased.
