Will you share your enthusiasm this November?
Nearly Zero Energy Buildings* Open Doors Ireland: 8-10 November 2013
As a passive house enthusiast, you’ve had the great foresight to build and live in your own low energy building. So, would you be available to open your doors during the second weekend of November 2013 and share your experiences and enthusiasm with others living in your neighbourhood? If so, we invite you to be a part of both the first Irish Nearly Zero Energy Buildings Open Doors Days and the International Passive House Days events which will run in parallel in November 2013.
Open Doors Days is the campaign of the NZEB 2021 project, co-funded by the EU Intelligent Energy Europe programme. The aim of the campaign is to give hands-on experiences of building and living in nearly zero energy buildings to visitors who will be welcomed during the Open Doors Days events. Energy Action is co-ordinating the Irish NZEB Open Doors campaign for this EU programme that will also take place in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovenia and Sweden.
During the weekend of the 8th – 10th November 2013, we hope to enlist the support of 30 to 40 owners of low energy houses and owners/managers of several public and commercial buildings around the country who will open their doors. We hope to attract many visitors who may be interested in building a low energy house or upgrading their house to a nearly zero energy standard.
So, if you would like to participate by opening your doors and inspiring others, please contact: Michael Hanratty, at IHER Energy Services (consultants to Energy Action) Michael@iher.ie, phone: 01 454 8300
The NZEB Open Doors event in Ireland will be run in co-operation with the Irish Passive House Association.
*The official Irish definition of Nearly Zero Energy Building will be defined later in 2013.
